Our Process
Installing and drilling anchors throughout the existing wooden structure helps stabilize the area surrounding the retaining wall. It also saves the cost of having to remove it. Steel wire mesh is then installed to prepare the wall for shotcrete. This will minimize the chances of the concrete cracking and strengthen the structure. Shotcrete is then applied and can be sculpted to resemble natural rock if desired.
Benefits
The economic benefits of this approach come from retaining the existing retaining wall, resulting in lower costs from demolition, site disturbance and waste hauling, compared to traditional replacement methods. If necessary, additional reinforcement for shotcrete encapsulated retaining walls can be provided using permanent soil anchors and/or vertically drilled soldier piles.
